CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS – SANATANA DHARMA / HINDUISM may have a solution already!

A couple of months ago I developed a swelling in my gums.

I tried to ignore the pain for a few days, and continue with my usual routine. But eventually the pain became so enormous that I had to go visit a dentist and get it fixed.

All the other faculties of my body were working properly, but I had to visit a dentist. Why? it was just my GUMS. Just a tiny part of my body.

So one thing we need to understand is that for us to function at our peak, it’s important for all the the sub-functions to perform at their peak too.

So, you can’t focus on your work the day you are down with an upset stomach or have a fever.

And if you still try to do, it’s eventually lead to more pain and something more severe.

The WORLD view from the perspective of SANATANA DHARMA is quite amazing. The EARTH IS CALLED “BHU-MA-DEVI”.

  1. BHU IS EARTH –
  2. MA IS MOTHER AND
  3. DEVI IS GODDESS.

EARTH is considered MOTHER GODDESS.

So the association promoted here is of a mother & child relationship. The idea is that that the MOTHER NOURISHES the children with whatever they require, and children reciprocate their love to their mother by protecting and taking care of her. This was a symbiotic relationship that was sustainable.

Similarly the wind systems and water systems are also associated with GODS – VAYU BHAGWAN (wind god) & VARUNA BHAGWAN (water god) and there was AGNI (FIRE GOD), SURYA (SUN GOD), INDIRA (the god of rain & lightning) etc.

The only way to keep the balance was to ensure there was moderation (what’s called as SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT now). Nature & its elements (wind, water fire mountains forests) were considered to be living organisms / (A GOD / DEVTA) who would react to stimuli – so if you treated it respectfully, the GOD will bestow you with its resources as gifts and riches and if you ill-treated the GOD by mis-using its resources, you would be PUNISHED. It was simple and IT WORKED

Truth be told, modern physics considers UNIVERSE to be ONE BIG LIVING ORGANISM –

Ask Ethan: Is The Universe Itself Alive?
Could we simply be a tiny, insignificant and replaceable cog in a much larger, more intelligent living being than we could imagine?

India was a country that was industrious and technologically advanced – so iron ore was mined and it was used for making tools and swords (India’s ASHOKA PILLAR (IRON PILLAR) is one of the mysteries that it has been standing high for many millennia without getting rusted) and India was also famous for the STEEL that was used to make DAMASCUS SWORDS. Only Indians knew the tech to extract ZINC.

So everything was happening but in MODERATION and in a sustainable way. There was no concept of plundering the earth’s resources for profiteering.

Similarly other civilizations had their own way appeasing nature.

Zoroastrians (PARSIS) are known to WORSHIP FIRE (AGNI)

This is BURNING FIRE in a Zoroastrian temple in YAZDI IRAN –

Fire temple – Wikipedia
Zoroastrian place of worship A fire temple , Agiary, Atashkadeh ( Persian : آتشکده ‎), Atashgah ( آتشگاه ) or Dar-e Mehr ( در مهر ) is the place of worship for the followers of Zoroastrianism , the ancient religion of Iran ( Persia ). [1] [2] [3] In the Zoroastrian religion, fire (see atar ), together with clean water (see aban ), are agents of ritual purity. Clean, white “ash for the purification ceremonies [is] regarded as the basis of ritual life”, which “are essentially the rites proper to the tending of a domestic fire, for the temple [fire] is that of the hearth fire raised to a new solemnity”. [4] For, one “who sacrifices unto fire with fuel in his hand …, is given happiness”. [5] As of 2019 [update] , there were 177 fire temples in the world, of which 45 were in Mumbai , 105 in the rest of India , and 27 in other countries. [6] [7] History and development [ edit ] Concept [ edit ] A Parsi -Zoroastrian Jashan ceremony (the blessing of a home). First evident in the 9th century BCE, the Zoroastrian rituals of fire are contemporary with that of Zoroastrianism itself. It appears at approximately the same time as the shrine cult and is roughly contemporaneous with the introduction of Atar as a divinity. There is no allusion to a temple of fire in the Avesta proper, nor is there any Old Persian language word for one. That the rituals of fire was a doctrinal modification and absent from early Zoroastrianism is also evident in the later Atash Nyash . In the oldest passages of that liturgy, it is the hearth fire that speaks to “all those for whom it cooks the evening and morning meal”, which Boyce observes is not consistent with sanctified fire. The temple is an even later development: from Herodotus it is known that in the mid-5th century BCE the Zoroastrians worshipped to the open sky, ascending mounds to light their fires. [8] Strabo confirms this, noting that in the 6th century, the sanctuary at Zela in Cappadocia was an artificial mound, walled in, but open to the sky, although there is no evidence whatsoever that the Zela-sanctuary was Zoroastrian. [9] Although the “burning of fire” was a key element in Zoroastrian worship, the burning of “eternal” fire, as well as the presence of “light” in worship, was also a key element in many other religions. The reverse shows him praying in front of a fire temple By the Parthian era (250 BCE–226 CE), there were two places of worship in Zoroastrianism: one, called bagin or ayazan , was a sanctuary dedicated to a specific divinity; it was constructed in honor of the patron saint (or angel) of an individual or family and included an icon or effigy of the honored. The second, the atroshan , were the “places of burning fire” which became more and more prevalent as the iconoclastic movement gained support. Following the rise of the Sassanid dynasty, the shrines to the Yazatas co

All these civilizations had pantheons of GODS & GODDESSES very similar to HINDUISM like VAYU, VARUNA, SURYA.

So at a point in time almost all civilizations had the same belief and they treated EARTH & her resources RESPECTFULLY & SUSTAINABLY.

But over the last 1000 years, ABRAHMIC RELIGIONS (ISLAM & CHRISTIANITY) have taken over the world. That’s how they have become the 2nd largest & the largest religions of the world.

The moment that happened, all these old belief systems were put to rest.

The other (ABRAHAMIC / Non-SANATANA) WORLD VIEW is that which looks at the EARTH as a repository of resources with a monetary value –

  1. so sea beds are considered to have so many trillions of dollars of crude oil
  2. mountains are considered to have so many billions of dollars of copper or iron ore and so on and so forth.
  3. forests are considered to have so many millions of WOOD

The result of this world view – we have successfully disturbed the equilibrium in nature, we have done so much damage to our environment, we have destroyed our forests, we have endangered our animals, recklessly mined our mountains, we have polluted our rivers and dumped GARBAGE in the sea.

What nature created in MILLIONS OF YEARS has been successfully destroyed in 200 years of INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

And what does any system do when it’s equilibrium is disturbed, it will try to fix it (like my body kept increasing the pain in my gum to an extent that I could not ignore it any more)

All this has resulted in Climate change – earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis. Last but not the least – COVID 19 pandemic.

This is from 1st week of July 2021 – US EAST COAST

It SNOWED in a place like FLORIDA, USA in March 2021 (last time was in 1977) and it completely disrupted the AMERICAN way of life, property destroyed, no electricity for days and weeks.

There are others

  1. Europe Floods July 2021
  2. California wildfires
  3. Uttarakhand (North India) floods
  4. Typhoon Vamco / Ulysses – Vietnam / Phillipines
  5. Large scale Floods in South China,
  6. Cyclone Amphan – West Bengal (india), Odisha(India), Bangladesh
  7. African locust infestation
  8. Australian bushfires
  9. Hurricane Dorian in the United States,
  10. floods in the Midwest and southern United States,
  11. typhoon Hagibis in Japan and
  12. the California wildfires, the costliest tragedy at $25 billion.
  13. Cyclone Idai in Mozambique,
  14. a deadly, record-breaking heatwave across much of Europe,
  15. wildfires in eastern Australia and
  16. floods in Venice.

The threat posed by climate change became so stark in 2019 that Indonesia, one of the fastest-growing economies on Earth, decided to move its capital to somewhere that wasn’t sinking.

Climate change is here and for real: Here are some disasters that have taken place in recent times
Climate change is here and for real. The year 2020, in fact, saw many instances of climate change-related disasters that resulted in loss of lives, property, as well as destruction of nature.

Also the deforestation rate of AMAZON RAIN FOREST is so high (27%) that its expected that there will be NO TREES IN AMAZON RAIN FOREST by 2030 as per a TIME MAGAZINE ARTICLE –

So, that’s why CLIMATE CHANGE is a BIG TOPIC world leaders discuss in UNITED NATIONS – UN has a UN FRAMEWORK CONVENTIONFOR CLIMATE CHANGE & UN INTERGOVERNMENTAL ORGAIZATION FOR CLIMATE CHANGE

Only SANATANA DHARMA (what’s called HINDUISM now) managed to survive this onslaught & ISLAM & CHRISTIANITY (through COLONIALISM). So that’s why you see the old practices and belief systems still intact among the HINDUS.

The only way of restoring balance is for THE WORLD TO EMBRACE the values and virtues of SANATANA DHARMA – balance, moderation and symbiotic and sustainable relationship with nature. That’s what’s going to save our world for our future generations.

Jaya jaya shankara hara hara shankara!
