The biggest truth about this era is that NO ONE IS SATISFIED AND CONTENT AND HAPPY with the jobs they are in.
That’s the reason there’s an ever increasing number of job portals and and ever increasing number of people actively looking for jobs on those sites.
I seldom see a sense of contentment or unceasing passion for work in people these days.
Every piece of work, every single project and every minute goes into accomplishing a goal which is a stepping stone to a bigger reward.
The reward is the first thing that comes to mind rather than the task at hand. Cause rewards give our brains a high (due to SEROTONIN) and it has become addictive. So, we as a society have been working in unison towards increased self gratification by slowly and steadily moving towards SHORTER & SHORTER TERM GOALS that will increase the frequency of these REWARDS and the GRATIFICATION that comes out of it.. Corporates are actively spearheading this, with their quarterly targets to the analysts and stock markets and its a two way thing at the end of the day cause we are also the shareholders of these very corporates.
We have reached mind numbing heights of destruction of our planet and its resources
We are polluting our rivers
We are dumping garbage and plastics in our oceans

Here’ a snippet from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC – Deforestation and Its Effect on the Planet
“Forests still cover about 30 percent of the world’s land area, but they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of forest, according to the World Bank—an area larger than South Africa. Since humans started cutting down forests, 46 percent of trees have been felled, according to a 2015 study in the journal Nature. About 17 percent of the Amazonian rainforest has been destroyed over the past 50 years, and losses recently have been on the rise.”
Causes of deforestation
Farming, grazing of livestock, mining, and drilling combined account for more than half of all deforestation. Forestry practices, wildfires and, in small part, urbanization account for the rest. In Malaysia and Indonesia, forests are cut down to make way for producing palm oil, which can be found in everything from shampoo to saltines. In the Amazon, cattle ranching and farms—particularly soy plantations—are key culprits.
Logging operations, which provide the world’s wood and paper products, also fell countless trees each year. Loggers, some of them acting illegally, also build roads to access more and more remote forests—which leads to further deforestation. Forests are also cut as a result of growing urban sprawl as land is developed for homes.

The lack of contentment at a personal level and our collective nearsightedness in giving into short term monetary goals has resulted in mindless plundering of our planet’s resources which has started affecting us, but we are still not realizing (have you heard about the BOILING FROG metaphor)
Its late but we the humanity still have time to fix our ways before it too late.

I think the biggest learning (and the NEED OF THE HOUR) from MAHABHARATA for not just me but the ENTIRE HUMANITY is the below shloka from the BHAGAVAT GITA
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन । मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि
Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana, Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani
Meaning– Your right is to perform your work, but never on the results. Never be motivated by the results of your actions, nor should you be attached to not performing your prescribed duties.. – Bhagavad Gita, Chapter II, Verse 47
- Its time we learn to live a life of contentment and happiness instead of GREED & DISCONTENT,
- its time we get back to having symbiotic relationship with our planet and its resources and go by doing our jobs in sustainable ways rather than our current mindset off utter disregard to the planet because of our material & CAPITALIST WAYS.
We need to do it, else we are self inviting our own DOOM
