What are the signs of a TRUE SAINT?

The first thing I am going to do is give your brain a little exercise, its essential for the entire thing to make sense.

A few warm up questions

  1. What are the signs of an ANGRY person
    1. This person gets angry at the drop of a pin or for anything and everything.
  2. What are the signs of a hard-working person
    1. This person works super hard. As simple as that
  3. What are the signs of a loving person.
    1. This person will be warm and loving with everyone.

You know where I am getting at with this right?

So essentially an auspicious person is someone who’s an epitome of auspiciousness, is encapsulated by it and spreads it wherever he / she goes.

They are exceptionally positive in their frame of mind and always would think about the well-being of others and their actions will be about doing good for others. They will be selfless.

When you are near them you will feel a great sense of positivity and peace. It will be calming to the senses, you might also feel BLISS if you are lucky.

One image that kept coming into my mind as soon as I saw this question is KANCHI MAHAPERIVA or Jagadguru Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal (1894 to 1994).

There are ton’s of stories about the miracles he performed on internet and youtube.

Here are a few youtube channels (a lot of this content is in TAMIL)

  1. Periyava Puranam,
  2. Experiences with Shree Maha Periyava

Here’s a small list of such people

Paramahamsa Yogananda

Ramana Maharishi

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living,

Sadhguru Jaggy Vasudev of ISHA

There are many more, but I am just setting the context here.

There’s a proverb in hindi “HIRE KI PARAKH JOHARI KO HI HOTI HAI” (a jeweller knows a diamond when he sees one).

Not everyone is privileged to be a DIAMOND but everyone has the CHOICE TO be A jeweller.

Jai Ganesha!

  1. There is no standard definition of who actually is a saint . A true saint is in my opinion a myth . Even an ordinary saint would neither be available for evaluation nor bother about opinions regarding his sainthood .
In my opinion , and I know devotees would contest it , a true saint is one who has conquered his ego and realizes that he is just another dot in the vast canvass that is the universe. He is not out to reform and teach but to interact and find out the real truth behind what all goes on around him .
I have had long sessions with some very well known true saints (?) . I found them knowlegeable deserving respect . May be I am unlucky none of them could arouse SHRADDHA.
